  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 c. scalded milk
  • 1/2 c. lukewarm water
  • 8 c. flour
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 lb. butter
  • raisins
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in water.

    Heat milk with butter and sugar. Add half the flour, eggs and vanilla.

    Add rest of flour.

    Let rise until double in quantity;

    knead and let rise again.

    Wash with milk and egg on top.

    Bake at 375°

    for 10 minutes; then at 325°

    for 50 minutes.
