- 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. yellow cornmeal
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- dash of salt
- 1/2 c. margarine or butter
- 2/3 c. milk
- 1/4 c. finely chopped onion
- 6 slices bacon, crisp cooked and crumbled
Directions

1Sift together the flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder and salt in a mixing bowl.

2Cut in margarine or butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

3Make a well in the center, add milk, onion and bacon.

4Stir just until dough clings together.

5Knead dough gently on a lightly floured surface, 10 to 12 strokes.

6Roll or pat dough to 3/4-inch thickness.

7Cut with a 2 1/2-inch biscuit cutter, dipping cutter in flour between cuts.

8Place on a baking sheet.

9Bake in a 450° oven for 12 minutes or until golden brown.
