Bacon & Fresh Mozzarella Pizza

- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 ball pizza dough*, stretched for a pizza pie
- 1/2 pound fresh mozzarella, sliced into rounds
- 6 slices bacon, cut in quarters
- 1/4 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1/2 small red onion, sliced thin
- 1 to 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
- 1 cup arugula, chopped
Directions

1Preheat the oven to 400F.

2In a bowl combine the tomato sauce and 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes.

3Spread the mixture over the stretched pizza dough.

4Top with the sliced mozzarella.

5Sprinkle the bacon, mushrooms and sliced onion on top.

6Brush the crust with olive oil and sprinkle with the grated Parmesan.

7Place the pizza on a baking sheet and bake until the cheese is golden and bubbly, about 10 to 12 minutes.

8While the pizza is baking, put the arugula, 1 tablespoon olive oil and a sprinkle of kosher salt in a small bowl, and toss to combine.

9Remove the pizza from the oven.

10Let cool for 5 minutes then top with the arugula mixture.

11Slice and serve hot or at room temperature.
