Bacon Roll-Ups

Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. butter or margarine
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 1/2 c. herb-sweetened stuffing
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1/4 lb. hot or mild bulk pork sausage
  • 1/2 to 2/3 lb. bacon

Directions

    Melt butter in water in saucepan.

    Remove from heat and stir into stuffing.

    Add egg and sausage and blend thoroughly.
  4. 4
    Chill for abut 1 hour for easier handling; then shape into small oblongs, about the size of pecans.

    Cut bacon strips into thirds, crosswise. Wrap one piece of bacon around dressing mixture and fasten with wooden picks.

    Place on rack in shallow pan and bake at 375° for 35 minutes or until brown and crisp, turning at halfway point.

    Drain on paper towels and serve hot.

    May be made the day before baking; also freezes well before baking.
