Bacon Water Chestnut Hors D'Oeuvres

  • 1/4 c soy sauce
  • 1/2 c brown sugar
  • 3/4 c sugar
  • 4 x 8oz cans whole water chestnuts, drained
  • 2 lbs thick bacon
  • tooth picks

Directions

    Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, & water chestnuts. Marinate in refrigerator for 30 minutes, no longer, stirring occasionally.

    Cut bacon in half. Roll each chestnut in sugar & wrap with bacon securing with toothpick & placing in baking pan close together. Bake for 15-20 minutes. At this point you could refrigerate until ready to serve. Skim off excess bacon fat from surface. Broil for 5 minutes before serving.
