- 2 packets active dry yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 1/2 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 5 c. flour, sifted
- 1 egg
- 1 c. water
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
Directions

1Prepare dough; dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water and add 1 1/2 teaspoons of sugar.

2Set aside.

3Sift the flour into a large bowl.

4Make well in center of flour and add dissolved yeast mixture.

5Add 1/2 cup of sugar, egg, 1 cup water, oil and salt. Mix with a large spoon, adding flour as needed until no longer sticky.

6Use hands to mix dough into a ball.

7Place in greased dish.

8Set in warm place and let rise until doubled in size (about 1 1/2 hours).
