Baked Beans

  • 2 lb. Northern beans
  • 1/2 c. catsup
  • 1/2 c. molasses
  • 2/3 c. brown sugar
  • salt (can be seasoned) and pepper
  • 1 large onion, cut up fine
  • 1 Tbsp. brown vinegar (takes away the gas!)
  • 1/2 lb. bacon, side pork or pork steak (you can either fry this in small pieces and drain fat or put it in raw)

    Soak beans overnight in water.

    Remove any beans that do not look good.

    Then cook until soft pinch, about 25 to 30 minutes.

    Do not drain.

    Use this water to bake beans with.

    If too much, save as you may need to add more liquid during baking.
