- 1 lb. red beans
- 1/2 lb. bacon slices, cut up
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1/3 c. ketchup
- 1/3 c. molasses
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/3 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
Directions

1Soak red beans overnight.

2Simmer in same water until tender, 2 to 3 hours.

3Drain and save water.

4Place in layers:

5beans, bacon and onions.

6Combine ketchup, molasses, salt, pepper and dry mustard.

7Pour over beans.

8Add enough water to cover pot and bake.

9The last half of baking time, uncover pot.

10Add a little water if beans seem dry while baking.

11Bake at 325° for 4 to 5 hours.
