- 1 lb. California pea beans
- 1 1/2 c. white sugar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1/2 lb. bacon
Directions

1Soak beans overnight.

2Sort through for bad beans.

3Parboil 10 minutes until skins split if you blow on them.

4Mix sugar and salt together; cut bacon into 1-inch squares.

5Drain beans.

6Layer in crock-pot; start with bacon and end with same.

7Cook with enough water to cover for 8 to 10 hours, stirring every once in awhile. Cook covered.
