- 1 c. (2 sticks) oleo or margarine
- 2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. corn syrup (light or dark)
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 6 qt. popped popcorn
Directions

1Melt oleo.

2Stir in sugar, syrup and salt.

3Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.

4Boil without stirring for 5 minutes.

5Remove from heat; stir in baking soda and vanilla.

6Gradually pour over popped corn, mixing well.

7Turn into 2 large shallow baking or roasting pans.

8Bake in a 250° oven for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.

9Remove from oven.

10Cool completely.

11Break apart and store in covered container.

12Yields 5 quarts.
