- 4 medium-size eggs
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 1/2 c. milk
- nutmeg (optional)
Directions

1Beat eggs slightly with fork.

2Add sugar, salt and vanilla. Add cold milk.

3Stir until thoroughly mixed.

4Pour into custard cups.

5Sprinkle with nutmeg, if desired, and place in 2 or 2 1/2-inch deep pan.

6Pour boiling water around cups to come almost level with custard.

7Bake in oven at 350° for 40 to 50 minutes or until a silver knife comes out clean when inserted in center. Makes 6 average sized custards.
