  • 1 lb. hamburg
  • 1/2 diced onion
  • 1 Tbsp. parsley
  • 1 tsp. dried sweet basil
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 to 2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 cans stewed or diced tomatoes
  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. lasagna noodles
  • 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 (12 oz.) cottage cheese or Ricotta cheese
  • 1 (2 1/2 oz.) Parmesan cheese
  • 1 (12 oz.) Mozzarella cheese

Directions

    Brown hamburg, onion and garlic.

    Add parsley, basil, salt, pepper, tomatoes and paste.

    Stir; cover and simmer for 1 hour. Meanwhile, cook noodles in salt water and vegetable oil for 20 to 25 minutes.

    Rinse and cool; separate.

    Preheat oven to 350°. Repeat layers in this order:

    noodles, cottage or Ricotta cheese, Mozzarella cheese, meat sauce and Parmesan cheese, ending with meat sauce.

    Repeat 2 or 3 times.

    Bake for 40 minutes.
