- 2 c. dried lima beans
- 1 1/2 qt. water
- 1 tsp. salt
- pinch of sugar
- 2 Tbsp. Schmaltz or butter
- 1/2 c. tomato catsup
Directions

1Bring limas to a boil in water.

2Add salt and sugar.

3Reduce heat and cook slowly until limas are very tender (about 1 1/2 hours).

4Drain beans.

5Place in 2-quart casserole.

6Stir in butter and catsup.

7Bake at 350° until limas are delicately browned and crusty on top (about 1 hour).

8Serves 6 to 8.
