- 1 (1 lb.) can pear halves, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1/4 c. raisins
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 5 slices white bread (crust removed)
- 1/4 c. butter or oleo, softened
- 4 c. milk
- 5 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- currant jelly
- powdered sugar
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Lightly butter a 10 x 10 x 2-inch baking dish.

3Toss pears with raisins and cinnamon.

4Spread in bottom of baking dish.

5Spread bread slices generously with butter.

6Cut each slice in half diagonally.

7Arrange, overlapping in dish, buttered side up.

8In pan, heat milk until bubbles form around edge of pan.

9Remove from heat.

10Add sugar and salt; stir to dissolve.
