Baked Pineapple Salad

Ingredients

  • 2 (1 lb. 4 oz.) cans crushed pineapple, drained well
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 scant c. sugar (If pineapple is in heavy syrup use 1/2 c. sugar)
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • butter
  • 1 c. grated cheddar cheese mixed with 1 c. grated American cheese
  • slightly toasted pecan pieces (see note)

Directions

    Place 1/2 of drained pineapple in buttered 10x6 pyrex dish. Mix flour, sugar, and salt, sprinkle half of this over pineapple. Dot with butter. Spread 1/2 of mixed cheese over this. Repeat in same order. Bake at 325°-350° for 30 minutes.

    Remove and sprinkle with pecans. Bake 5 more minutes.
