- 2 c. rice (regular)
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 c. raisins
- 4 large eggs, beaten
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. milk
Directions

1Put rice, raisins and salt in saucepan; cover with water. Cook until rice is tender and raisins are plump, stirring often. Add more water if needed.

2Mix the eggs, sugar, vanilla, nutmeg and milk together; blend well.

3Add to the rice mixture.

4Mixture must be rather on the thick, soupy side, as it will thicken while it is baking and still more after it is removed.

5Pour into a greased baking dish.

6Bake at 350° to 375° for about 20 minutes, until it starts to bubble around the edges.

7The center will be very soft yet.

8Remove from oven; let set.
