Baked Spaghetti

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. salad oil
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1 (1 lb. 13 oz.) can tomatoes
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 lb. ground chuck
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. spaghetti, uncooked
  • 1/4 lb. Cheddar cheese, grated

Directions

    Cook onions and garlic in skillet for 5 minutes.

    Add ground chuck; cook, stirring occasionally until meat loses its red color. Add salt, pepper and tomatoes. Simmer covered for 30 minutes, then discard garlic.

    Add chile powder and water.

    Bread half of uncooked spaghetti into greased 2-quart casserole.

    Pour on half of sauce.

    Sprinkle with half of cheese. Repeat layers.

    Bake, covered, 35 minutes at 350°; uncover and bake 15 minutes longer.
