- 5 small yellow summer squash
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1/4 c. butter
- pepper and salt
- fresh bread
Directions

1Cut and steam squash in 1/2 cup water and 1/4 cup sugar. Place squash, undrained, in a good size baking dish.

2Beat egg into milk and pour over squash.

3Saute onion in butter and add. Salt and pepper to taste.

4Mix in torn-up fresh bread to leave little liquid standing.

5Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes.

6(Good substitute for stuffing.)
