  • 2 lb. lean beef, cut in chunks
  • 2 c. onions, cut in chunks
  • 2 c. potatoes, cut in chunks
  • 2 c. carrots, cut in chunks
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 5 Tbsp. tapioca (dry)
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 3 c. tomato juice
  • 1 pkg. dry onion soup mix

    In covered roaster pan, place ingredients in the order given. Cover.

    Bake at 250° for 5 hours.

    No browning necessary.

    When done, the gravy is thick and brown.
