  • 8 tomatoes, sliced 1/2-inch thick
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 to 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 c. light cream
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. baking soda

Directions

    Dust tomato slices with flour seasoned with salt, pepper and sugar.

    Brown lightly in butter and transfer to a baking dish. Stir cream, sugar and soda into pan drippings, blending well. Pour over tomatoes and bake at 325° for 15 to 20 minutes.
