- 2 14.5 oz. cans sliced or whole tomatoes
- 5 slices white bread
- 2 Tbsp. grated onion
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp. ground red pepper
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 stick of butter, melted
Directions

1Heat oven to 350.

2Grease a 1 1/2 qt. casserole dish.

3Drain the tomatoes and save the juice.

4Mix tomatoes, torn bread slices, onion, sugar, red pepper, salt, and half of the melted butter. Add some reserved juice if the mixture looks dry.

5Pour remaining butter over mixture and bake 30 - 40 minutes.
