- 1/2 cup butter
- 6 tbsp. shortening
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 cup warm milk
Directions

1Cream butter, shortening, sugar and vanilla together in a large bowl.

2Stir cornstarch into milk and add to sugar mixture.

3Beat everything at low speed until all ingredients are blended.

4Beat at medium speed for 5 to 7 minutes until the icing is creamy smooth and of desired consistency.

5NOTE: This icing will appear curdled at first but dont give up.

6As you continue to beat it, it becomes smooth.

7Wait 20 minutes and beat again.

8The cornstarch may need time to thicken.
