- 4 c. flour
- 4 tsp. Bakewell cream
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 1/2 c. cold milk
Directions

1Mix and sift dry ingredients.

2Add shortening and mix with pastry blender or fork.

3Add milk all at once and stir quickly. Some flour may need a bit more milk to make soft dough.

4Turn onto floured board and knead 5 to 6 times.

5Roll to 1/2-inch thickness and cut with biscuit cutter.

6Bake at 475° for 5 minutes.
