- 2 1/2 c. sifted Softasilk cake flour
- 1 2/3 c. sugar
- 1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1 1/4 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2/3 c. soft shortening
- 2/3 c. buttermilk
- 1 1/4 c. mashed ripe bananas (about 3)
- 2 large eggs
- 2/3 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Sift together Softasilk, sugar, baking powder, soda and salt. Add shortening, 1/2 of the buttermilk and bananas.

2Beat for 2 minutes. Add remaining liquid with the eggs.

3Fold in nuts.

4Pour into greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan or two 9-inch layer pans. Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes.
