- 2/3 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 eggs, separated
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 6 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 1/2 c. milk
- 2 bananas, sliced
- 9-inch baked pie crust
Directions

1Combine 2/3 cup sugar, cornstarch and salt in top of double boiler.

2Gradually stir in milk.

3Cook over boiling water, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens.

4Beat egg yolks using fork; stir a small amount of hot mixture into egg yolks. Immediately pour yolk mixture into remaining hot mixture, blending thoroughly.

5Cook 2 more minutes, stirring constantly.

6Remove from heat.

7Gently stir in vanilla.

8Let mix cool while preparing meringue.
