  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 very ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1/4 c. buttermilk
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. chopped black walnuts or pecans

    Cream margarine and sugar.

    Add eggs and bananas.

    Sift dry ingredients together; add buttermilk and vanilla.

    Fold in chopped nuts.

    Combine 2 mixtures.

    Bake in greased loaf pan at 325° to 350° for 1 hour or until bread tests done.
