  • 3/4 c. margarine
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. (ripe) mashed bananas
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 3/4 c. chopped nuts

    Cream margarine and sugar thoroughly.

    Blend in bananas, eggs and vanilla.

    Add sifted dry ingredients and buttermilk.

    Mix well and add nuts.

    Bake in a greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan for 1 hour and 30 to 45 minutes at 330°.

    Use a toothpick to test center.

    This is a very moist bread.
