  • 1 c. mashed ripe banana
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 2/3 c. buttermilk
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/4 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. nuts
