Banana Nut Loaf

- 2/3 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. soft shortening
- 2 eggs
- 3 Tbsp. buttermilk
- 1 c. mashed ripe bananas
- 2 c. sifted Martha White self-rising flour
- 1/4 tsp. soda
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Hat oven to 350°.

2Grease an 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2-inch loaf pan.

3Mix together thoroughly sugar, shortening and eggs.

4Stir in buttermilk, mashed bananas and flour, then soda and fold in chopped nuts.

5Turn batter into prepared pan.

6Bake 50 to 60 minutes.

7Cool in pans for 10 minutes.

8Remove and cool completely.
