  • 6 medium bananas
  • 1 (1 lb.) box vanilla wafers
  • 3 medium eggs, separated
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

    Mix the sugar and flour in double boiler.

    Beat egg yolks and milk together.

    Stir into flour and sugar.

    Add vanilla.

    Boil until thick.

    Remove from heat.

    In 4-quart casserole dish, cover bottom with wafers.

    Slice 3 bananas over wafers.

    Pour half of pudding over bananas.

    Layer once more.

    Top with meringue.

    Bake at 400° until topping browns.
