Banana Split Cake

  • 4 to 5 bananas (not too ripe)
  • 2 c. graham cracker crumbs or vanilla wafers, crushed
  • 1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 small bottle maraschino cherries, chopped
  • 3 sticks margarine (soft), divided
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. confectioners sugar
  • 1 (9 oz.) Cool Whip
  • 1 c. nuts, chopped
  • 1 1/2 c. vanilla, divided

Directions

    Mix 1 stick margarine with crumbs.

    Pat lightly in 13 x 9 x 2-inch buttered pan.

    Mix eggs, rest of margarine, confectioners sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla in mixer for 10 to 15 minutes. Spread mixture over crumb crust.

    Cover with sliced bananas. Spoon pineapple over bananas.

    Mix 1 teaspoon vanilla with Cool Whip and spread over pineapple.

    Top with chopped nuts and cherries.
