  • 32 oz. can Van Camp's pork and beans
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 3/4 c. barbecue sauce
  • 2 capfulls liquid smoke
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped dried onion or 1/4 c. freshly chopped onion
  • 1/4 c. bell pepper (if desired)

Directions

    Empty contents of beans.

    Add brown sugar, smoke sauce, onion and barbecue sauce of your choice.

    For added flavor, add bacon. Bake, covered, at 325° for 1 hour.

    After 1 hour, remove lid and stir contents.
  5. 5
    Cover and bake one more hour.
