Ingredients
- 1 (3 lb. 1/2-inch thick) sirloin steak
- 1/2 tsp. ginger
- 2 Tbsp. poppy seed
- 1 c. soy sauce
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 2 green onions, cut into 1/2-inch strips
- 1 minced garlic clove
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/4 c. hot water
Directions

1Blend cornstarch and hot water in a bowl.

2Combine all ingredients, except steak, green onions, garlic and butter. Place steak on a deep platter.

3Pour soy sauce mixture over steak. Let stand for 1 hour, turning once.

4Saute green onions and garlic in butter until tender.

5Cook steak in a slightly greased grill, saving the sauce.

6Cook steak to your desire after basting it with sauce.

7Remove steak to platter and pour garlic and onion, mixing over it.

8Let stand for 5 minutes before slicing.

9Serves 6.
