  • 1 pound hamburger
  • 1 c. minced onion
  • 2 - 2 1/2 teaspoon chili pwdr
  • 46 ounce. tomato juice
  • 1/2 c. barley
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 tbsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. minced celery
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Directions

    In a 3 qt sauce pan, cook and stir meat till tender.

    Drain fat then stir in rest of ingredients.

    Bring to a boil.

    Reduce hat, cover and simmer till barley is done (about 1 hour).
