Ingredients
- 1 c. barley
- 6 c. chicken broth with some finely cut pieces chicken
- 1 medium chopped onion
- 1 c. milk
- grated carrot
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions

1Soak barley 2 hours before you start cooking.

2Next, cook barley for 1 hour in 3 cups of water and then wash it.

3Mix the barley with the broth, chicken pieces and onion.

4Add grated carrots for color and cook for another hour.

5Add milk; bring to a boil and serve it.
