  • 3 1/2 ounces pearl barley
  • 218 quarts water
  • 1 fig
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 can apple juice

Directions

    cover the barley and the fig with water and cook for 1 1/2 hour.

    strain through a sieve.

    add the honey, applejuice, salt, lemonjuice and the grated lemonpeel.
