Basic Baked Custard Recipe

- 4 Large eggs
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 2 1/2 c. warm lowfat milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon grnd nutmeg
- Minced nuts or possibly raisins (optional)
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2In a 4 c. measure, stir Large eggs with a fork just to blend.

3Stir in sugar, warm lowfat milk, and vanilla.

4Place 6 (6 oz) custard c. or possibly 1 qt casserole in a large baking pan.

5Pour custard into c. or possibly dish.

6Sprinkle with nutmeg.

7Pour warm water into the larger pan to 1 inch depth.

8Bake 30 min for c. or possibly 45 min for casserole or possibly till knife inserted near the center comes out clean.

9Remove c. or possibly dish from water; cold on a wire rack, then chill.

10Serve with a sprinkle of nuts or possibly raisins.

11Yield: 6 servings.
