- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1/2 to 3/4 c. milk
- 2 c. sifted self-rising flour
Directions

1Cut shortening into flour until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

2Blend in enough milk to make a soft dough.

3Turn out on lightly floured board or pastry cloth and knead gently 30 seconds. Roll out 1/2-inch thick.

4Cut out biscuits with floured 2-inch biscuit cutter or sharp knife.

5Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake in preheated 450° oven 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
