Basic Cheese Sauce(Low-Fat)

- 1 Tbsp. margarine
- 4 tsp. cornstarch
- 1/8 tsp. pepper or white pepper
- 1 c. skim milk
- 3/4 c. shredded American or process Swiss cheese (3 oz.)
Directions

1In a small saucepan, melt margarine.

2Stir in cornstarch and pepper; add milk.

3Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly, then cook and stir 2 minutes more.

4Add cheese, stirring to melt. Makes about 1 1/2 cups or 24 (1 tablespoon) servings.
