  • 1 lb American cheese
  • 1/2 c milk
  • 1/2 c sifted flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c fine crumbs
  • Crisco for deep frying

Directions

    Cut cheese into 1/2 to 1 inch cubes.

    Dip in milk and then flour.

    Roll the cubes in egg and then in fine crumbs.

    Fry cheese bits in deep Crisco heated to about 365° (or when an inch cube of bread browns in 60 seconds).

    Fry about one minute, or until as brown as desired.

    Drain on absorbent paper and serve very hot.
