- 2 c. milk
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 3 egg yolks
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. flour
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Scald milk; mix dry ingredients together.

2Add hot milk, stirring constantly.

3Cook in a double boiler until smooth and thick, about 15 minutes.

4Beat egg yolks slightly and add a small amount of hot mixture to them.

5Add this quickly to remainder of hot mixture and cook 3 minutes longer.

6Cool.
