- 1 c. butter
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 4 c. sifted flour
- 1/8 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
Directions

1Cream butter; gradually add sugar and beat until light and fluffy.

2Beat in eggs.

3Sift together dry ingredients.

4Stir into creamed mixture (dough should be stiff).

5Refrigerate overnight in covered bowl.

6Roll dough very thin, using flour on board and rolling pan.

7Cut out in shapes.

8Place 1 to 1 1/2-inches apart on greased baking sheet.

9Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes or until crisp and straw colored.

10Remove cookies and cool on racks. Yields 16 dozen.
