Basic Marinata Sauce(To Be Used Alone Over Pasta)

- 1 medium-large onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced (more if desired)
- 1 tsp. each: basil, oregano and parsley (more to suit taste)
- 1/4 c. red wine (optional)
- crushed red pepper (optional)
- 2 (28 oz. each) cans Italian tomatoes, crushed
Directions

1In a large skillet saute onions in olive oil.

2When almost light golden, add garlic.

3Continue to saute 2 additional minutes. Add 2 cans tomatoes and add basil, oregano, parsley, 1 teaspoon each (more if desired) salt, black pepper plus red wine and red pepper, if desired.

4Cook, uncovered, for 30 to 40 minutes, stirring occasionally.

5Serve over favorite pasta.
