Basic Pesto Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 c. lightly packed basil leaves
  • 1 c. freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 c. extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/3 c. pine nuts
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice (optional)

Directions

    Combine all ingredients in a blender and whirl smooth.

    Toss well over hot cooked pasta.

    Add additional cheese, if desired. Makes 1 1/2 cups.
