- 1 tsp. olive oil
- 1 small onion, coarsely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1 (28 oz.) can Italian style plum tomatoes, coarsely chopped with juice
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
Directions

1Lightly coat large nonstick skillet with olive oil.

2Heat over medium.

3Add onion and garlic.

4Saute 1 minute.

5Add tomatoes with juice.

6Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until thickened, about 30 minutes.

7Stir in salt and pepper.

8Use sauce immediately or cool and refrigerate, covered, for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 1 month.
