- 1 cup sifted cake flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 5 egg yolks
- 2 tsps. cold water
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 5 egg whites
- 1/2 cup sugar for egg yolks
- 1/2 cup sugar for egg whites
Directions

1Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.

2Set aside.

3Beat egg yolks with cold water and vanilla until light.

4Gradually add sugar, beating well until thick and lemon-colored.

5Set aside.

6Beat egg whites until soft peaks are formed.

7Add sugar gradually, beatinh well until very stiff but not dry.

8Fold egg yolks alternately with flour mixture into egg whites.

9Pour into prepared pans.

10Bake at 350AF.

12Cool and frost with your favorite icing.
