- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 cup brown sugar or 1/4 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 cup buttermilk or 1 cup yogurt
- 3 tablespoons oil or 3 tablespoons melted butter
Directions

1Mix all dry ingredients thoroughly, including raisins.

2Make a well in the center of dry ingredients and add egg, milk and oil.

3Mix only until dry ingredients are moist.

4Fill greased muffin pans half full.

5Bake at 375F for 15 minutes.
