Batter Dinner Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 stick oleo
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 c. cold water
  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 to 3 1/2 c. flour

Directions

    Place the first 3 ingredients in a pan.

    Heat until oleo melts.

    Add 1 cup cold water to heated mixture; stir and add yeast.

    Then add egg and salt.

    Stir in flour.

    If needed, add more flour to get a bread-type dough consistency.

    Let stand for 30 minutes.

    Shape into balls and place in greased pan; let the dough rise for 20 minutes.

    Bake at 400° for 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 1 dozen rolls.
