Ingredients
- 1/2 to 1 lb. hot dogs, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
- 2 (1 lb.) cans pork and beans
- 1 Tbsp. mustard
- 3/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 2/3 c. corn meal
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1/4 c. cooking oil
- 1/2 c. catsup
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2/3 c. milk
- 1/3 c. finely chopped onion
Directions

1Combine hot dogs, beans, catsup, water and mustard in a 12 x 8-inch baking dish.

2Sift flour with sugar, baking powder and salt into mixing bowl.

3Stir in corn meal.

4Add egg, milk, oil and onion all at once to sifted dry ingredients.

5Stir just enough to combine.

6Spoon mixture over beans.

7Bake at 400° for 35 to 40 minutes until golden brown.

8Makes 8 servings.
