Ingredients

  • 1/2 to 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 16 oz. can kidney beans, drained
  • 1 c. ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp. liquid smoke
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 lb. bacon (optional)
  • 1 lb. 15 oz. pork and beans
  • 16 oz. can butter limas, drained
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. white vinegar
  • dash of pepper

Directions

    Brown beef; drain.

    Put in mixing bowl.

    Brown onion and bacon; drain off fat.

    Combine onion, bacon and remaining ingredients.

    Mix well.

    Pour into casserole.

    Cover with foil. Bake at 325° for 1 hour.

    Can substitute navy or pinto for other beans.
